Your Infrastructure Should Compile, Too

Rustaceans put trust in the compiler to catch mistakes before production.
But when it comes to the infrastructure our applications need, we’re forced to rely on configuration files and arbitrary strings.
But what if the compiler could also understand that part of our applications?
This means catching infrastructure integration problems in seconds instead of waiting on a slow and risky deployment loop.
In this talk I'll explain how we've built an open source project that does exactly this: bringing application infrastructure into the compiled development loop.

André Eriksson

André taught himself to program as a kid and built user interface additions for games like World of Warcraft (CTMod). Later he became a staff engineer at Spotify, where he built large-scale distributed systems and learned just how much of cloud development is repetitive infrastructure work. For the last six years, André has been working on open source projects to make cloud development easier, including parsers, compilers, and backend frameworks, as founder of Encore.
